Michigan State University fraternity house applications on the rise

Some extra curricular activates are also returning to their pre-pandemic form

EAST LANSING, Mich. – When the pandemic hit, universities across the U.S. saw a cut in enrollment, often because learning was taking place online and students were forced off campus. That dip in enrollment also meant a cut in extra curricular activates, such as sports and Greek organizations.

Now that university life is starting to bounce back and return to a “new normal,” some extra curricular activates are also returning to their pre-pandemic form. According to records posted on the City of East Lansing’s website, Michigan State University is seeing an increase in MSU fraternity house applications.

Fraternities, sororities and co-ops are all eligible houses. If any of the aforementioned organizations desire to live off campus, they are required to apply through the university and be approved. They also need to apply via East Lansing to get a valid rental license. Students must also apply to live in those houses.

Michigan State University currently has 65 Greek chapters.
