Detroit Lions announce coaching change

The Detroit Lions had a tight game, but they fell short on Sunday (Oct. 30) against Miami

The Detroit Lions had a tight game, but they fell short on Sunday (Oct. 30). The team, which has struggled for decades, took on the Miami Dolphins at Ford Field and lost 31-27.

Detroit’s offense has good stats and is actually doing well this year. But, the team’s weak defense is at the center of lots of discussion. Now, one coaching assistant has lost his position with the team.

The Lions have split with defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapopor. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press first reported the news.

“We’re in a production-based business,” head coach Dan Campbell explained in a press conference, “and after seven weeks, I felt like this change needed to be made.”

This is the first major change to the team’s defensive staff this season.
