Cutting Coupons is Over for One Major Grocery Chain

If you enjoy clipping coupon, as in the old-fashioned way, that's coming to an end at one major grocery chain

Say it isn’t so. If you enjoy clipping coupon, as in the old-fashioned way, that’s coming to an end at one major grocery chain.

According to CNN, Kroger, which is actually the largest grocery chain in the United States, is ending its weekly newspaper ad circulars.

Don’t worry. You can still find the deals online. But, it’s not the same.

On Twitter, the company stated that it was ending its print ads due to declining newspaper circulation. Also, many traditional newspapers don’t even have print editions anymore.

“Kroger is joining many retailers in shifting the way our weekly ads are distributed,” a spokesperson told CNN.

Since Kroger is the biggest grocery chain in America, it’s likely others will follow. It’s kind of sad, as many Americans likely remember growing up with coupons and clipping coupons with mom and dad. Time will tell if the coupons come back. Let’s hope so.
