Lansing Winterfest kicks off this weekend

The event will take place over four weekends in February

Lansing Winterfest returns to mid-Michigan this weekend, but this year, there’s a twist. Downtown Lansing Inc. has expanded the once annual Winterfest event to take place every Saturday throughout the month. In previous years, the event took place only one Saturday during the month.

Each Saturday will offer a different type of activity for attendees. The inaugural event is set for Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Washington Square and Michigan Avenue, presenting a warm fire, ice sculpture, hot cocoa and s’mores stations. The second event is Feb. 11, from 4 p.m. 8 p.m., bringing an adults-only beer crawl along Shiawassee Street from MichiGrain Distillery to Lansing Brewing Company.

The third event is Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at DLI’s market sheds in Reutter Park, with an Arctic Bazaar. The final event is Feb. 25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Rotary Park, bringing live music, a euchre tournament and a boat race.
