Michigan Reports 7,725 Confirmed and Probable Cases of COVID-19 for the Past Week

Michigan is averaging roughly 1,104 cases per day

The State of Michigan has reported 7,725 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 over the past seven days and 81 new deaths. The information comes from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

According to the state, Michigan is averaging roughly 1,104 cases per day. That’s higher than the 752 cases per day average reported last week, the MDHHS reports.

Starting April 4, Michigan has changed how they are reporting cases. Now, the state is reporting new cases just once a week, on Wednesdays. The new reports also include both confirmed and probable cases in the same totals.

That new numbers bring both confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Michigan up to 2,400,990 and the total number of deaths, including both confirmed and probable figures, to 35,857 since the start of the pandemic began in March 2020. Michigan has also stopped reporting when a death is identified as part of a vital records review.
