Four shot at party in Lansing, one in critical condition

Gunshots were fired at a large gathering in Lansing Thursday night

LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Police Department has reported that gunshots were fired late St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) in Lansing, resulting in at least four people having to go to the hospital.

The shooting took place in the Eastside neighborhood right before 11 p.m., according to police. Officers were on the scene after getting reports of gunfire at the intersection of East Michigan Ave. and Magnolia St., near the Frandor Shopping Center. A large group of people were in the area at the time.

According to police, one group of people came to the gathering and opened fire on another group. At least four people were shot and immediately taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition.

The Lansing Police Department is asking anyone who was in the crowd and left the party before police arrived to contact 517-483-4600.
