FlexJobs reports a 12% increase in remote job openings in 2021 over 2020

If you’re looking to begin 2022 with a new job, one that’s completely remote, then you’re in luck, because a bevy of companies are hiring workers who work from home.

FlexJobs has released a new report on the top 100 companies hiring remote workers in 2022, using information from the 57,000 companies who have job openings listed on their websites.

FlexJobs started releasing this report nine years ago, when remote jobs were just starting to talk hold. Some companies have been on the list from day one, including CVS and Dell Technologies, but some companies are on the tally for the first time this year, including Mayo Clinic and Stitch Fix.

Remote jobs are on the rise, as FlexJobs reports a 12% increase in remote job openings in 2021 over 2020.

“Interestingly, not only did the number of remote job postings increase, the variety of job titles and experience levels also increased,” according to the report. “While many of the postings were for managers or experienced staff, at least 20% were for entry-level and director-level positions.”

As for the top careers for remote workers, “the computer and IT field topped the list of career fields for remote jobs,” according to the report. The accounting and finance field also reported major growth year-over-year, making it the second most popular occupation for finding remote jobs. Other professions that saw themselves going more report year-over-year include marketing and the HR and recruiting industry.
