More than 2K pounds of marijuana found hidden in pool toy boxes in Detroit

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized the trailer and boxes of marijuana

DETROIT, Mich. – Last week in Detroit, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than a ton of illegal marijuana.

As U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports, agents x-rayed an inbound tractor trailer at the Fort St. Cargo Faciility last week. In it, they discovered a whopping 2,175 pounds of marijuana concealed in boxes that were made to look like foam pool toys.

CBP seized the trailer and boxes of marijuana.

“This seizure underscores CBP’s long standing commitment to the border security mission,” Port Director Devin Chamberlain said in a statement. “The men and women of CBP continue to work diligently to keep our Nation and our communities safe.”
