Five NFL players recently got released or suspended over gambling violations.
According to the Detroit Lions’ official statement, the team has released WR Quintez Cephus and S C.J. Moore after they were suspended indefinitely by the NFL for “violating the league’s gambling policy, including betting on NFL games.”
They aren’t the only Lions impacted, either. Detroit Lions WR Stanley Berryhill and WR Jameson Williams have also been suspended for six games for more gambling policy violations.
On top of the Lions, Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney was suspended for violating the league’s gambling policy. Having five playing impacted by these gambling violations is a big deal, since it marks some of the biggest violations in years.
