Former minister Eliseu Padilha had surgery at Hospital Moinhos de Vento, in Porto Alegre, and his condition is stable, according to a medical bulletin released by the hospital on Tuesday.
The hospital did not disclose the reason or where the surgery went.
Padilha is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), is in the recovery phase and is expected to be discharged to the bedroom.
The hospital note states that Padilha has not suffered a stroke. “Its condition requires care and observation, but is not considered serious at the moment,” says doctor Nilton Brandão, an intensive care clinician of Moinhos de Vento, who signs the newsletter.
In March 2017, Padilha had surgery for prostate removal at the same hospital in Porto Alegre. In January this year, he underwent a bone marrow autograft for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
